Tom S. Chun is a trial lawyer specializing in business litigation for over 30 years. Mr. Chun is committed to providing the highest quality legal services in a cost effective manner. Starting his career as a litigator at the national law firm of Wyman, Bautzer, Kuchel & Silbert (which subsequently merged with Katten, Muchen & Weitzman) allowed Mr. Chun to learn from and work with some of the best trial lawyers in the country. That experience still guides Mr. Chun to represent his clients with the same skill and approach provided by big firms but without the bureaucracy and inefficiency inherent in big firms. As a solo practitioner, Mr. Chun is able to provide individualized and personal attention to all phases of litigation. He has substantial experience handling a variety of complex business and commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, fraud, employment, unfair business practices, trade secrets and real estate finance and sales disputes. He has a proven track record of successfully prosecuting and defending cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts as well as international and domestic arbitration forum.
Mr. Chun recognizes that litigation is a means to an end and his focus is in achieving the optimal result for the client, whether through an early resolution or trial. If it is necessary to go to trial, he has extensive courtroom experience. Unlike some lawyers who claim to specialize in litigation but have little actual trial experience, Mr. Chun has tried numerous cases successfully before judges and juries.
Mr. Chun relishes handling difficult and complex cases and is never intimidated or discouraged by who is on the other side or who is representing the other side. In several of the cases listed in the "Representative Victories" section, Mr. Chun persevered and prevailed even though he was the only lawyer on his side going up against an opposing team of three or four trial lawyers from some of the most prominent and largest law firms in the country.
Mr. Chun also maintains a network of highly qualified attorneys whom he can associate in or refer matters to, when necessary, allowing him the flexibility to handle cases of virtually any size.
